Malcolm X Tribute
Tribute portrait I did of Malcolm X on the 49th anniversary of his assassination. I wanted to show a positive and joyful portrayal in spite of the loss, grief and outrage we often feel when reminded of the lives that have been lost and especially taken.
El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz has been an inspiration in my life and a reminder that we never stop developing and growing as people and at the same time we always have the power and responsibility to try to change our world and society for the better.
This is one of the first things I did with my new Wacom tablet and so far I am liking working with it although I am still not quite used to it. An 11×17 version of this is available for download from Political Pirates.
