I had the privilege of working on Dreco Anastasio’s Debut EP ‘TS4NO1’ working with him on single covers, the overall album artwork packaging and stuff for the rollout. This was a really fun and rewarding to see my young brother put together and release such a thoughtful and personal first body of work. In working on the singles, he always came with not just ideas, but specific refernce material, photography and even his own writing to give the covers personal touches and significance. It was a good challenge to incorporate these visually and have such a wealth of material to work with which is not always the case. For the cover itself We were attempting to smash an old glass clock and stage and photograph the results symbolizing the unbreakable or unstoppable nature of time and playing with it. Instead the glass clock played with us, the actual glass refusing to break despite repeated hurls thown at the pavement. In the end we took the disassembled clockworks and the survivng glass body and laid it out as an assemblage with other items employed in the creative process. This was then layered with artwork drawn by Dreco’s own hand and the result was a one of a kind treatment that perfectly fits the project.
